Temple 250th Anniversary Fund seeking 4th annual Grant Proposals
The Temple Anniversary Fund, established in the fall of 2008, is accepting proposals for 2012 grant distributions. In 2010 the total distribution was a little over $1,000.00, and the grant was awarded to the Library for updating furnishings. Last year a similar amount was awarded to the Elementary School to go towards their new playground climbing dome.
This year the fund has approximately $1,100.00 to award in grant money. Project proposals will be accepted throughout the summer and into the fall, and we encourage all interested parties to apply! The application is user-friendly and not difficult to complete.
The Fund’s stated objective is to promote charitable purposes and initiatives that will contribute to the well-being of the Temple community. There are no strict criteria, but one intent of the Fund is to support proposals which would not traditionally be paid for with tax dollars or be included in the Town Budget. Some examples are town beautification, historic preservation, and projects which involve and support families, children, and the community in general.
Applications are available from the Temple Selectmen’s Office (878-2536). Interested applicants can also contact the fund and request an application at: templeanniversaryfund@gmail.com, or by calling Julie McAdoo at 878-2063 or Vince Mamone at 878-0802.
Completed proposals should be submitted to the Selectmen’s office.
